A review by a national critic does no harm at all
National food critic Tom Parker Bowles has been bowled over by one of Nottingham's foodie hotspots. He took a trip to the East Midlands to check out the Hockley home of tacos and tequila, Taquero, in Heathcoat Street - promoted by Sat Bains , the man behind the city's two-star Michelin restaurant.
Praising the range of beer, lime juice and hot-sauce cocktails, he goes on to congratulate the quality of the salsas, from the verdant verde to a hot and fruity habanero. He tries the seafood cocktail with prawn and octopus and the tuna tostadas, although he clearly likes his food with a little more kick. A judicious spoonful of the habanero salsa sorts it out.He bigs up the beef birra's slow-cooked meat with melted cheese as the star taco.
Here at Nottinghamshire Live we were super impressed when it opened at the end of last year, so it comes as no surprise to read Tom's favourable review in the Daily Mail's You magazine. Recent visitors have plenty of good things to say about the taqueria.
