CEBU CITY, Philippines — Richard Natividad ruled the “Heart to Sports, No to Drugs: Valentine’s Day Chess Special,” of the Cebu Executives and Professionals Chess Association (Cepca) and
Natividad, one of the Toledo City Trojans’ woodpushers for the Professional Chess Association of the Philippines , finished the 13-round Swiss system tournament with 10.5 points coming from 10 wins, two losses and one draw.
National Master Jerish John Velarde finished second with 10.0 points while International Master Barlo Nadera grabbed the third place honors with 10.0 points as well. NM Velarde earned the second place for accumulating higher tiebreak points over IM Nadera.
