D'Angelo Russell's season-high 44 points helped the Los Angeles Lakers beat the Milwaukee Bucks 123-122. Russell scored the winning points with 5.9 seconds remaining for the Lakers, who were missing the injured LeBron James.
Giannis Antetokounmpo made his eighth triple-double of the season but the Bucks fell to a second loss in a row.Elsewhere, centre Rudy Gobert admitted an "immature reaction" had "cost my team the game" as the Minnesota Timberwolves lost 113-104 in overtime to the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Frenchman was ejected for his sixth foul of the game with the Timberwolves leading and just 27 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter. But he stayed on court and made a finger-rubbing 'money' gesture towards the referee which led to him being charged with a technical foul. The Cavs drew level and forced overtime before clinching the win, with Darius Garland's 34 points and 33 from Jarrett Allen helping them to victory. Meanwhile, the Washington Wizards ended a 16-game losing streak by beating the Charlotte Hornets 112-100.
