Donte DiVincenzo hit a franchise-record 11 3-pointers Monday night, when he scored a career-high 40 points to lead the host New York Knicks to a 124-99 rout of the Detroit Pistons.
DiVincenzo broke the mark set by J.R. Smith on April 6, 2014 and matched by Evan Fournier on Jan. 6, 2022. Fournier, who was traded by the Knicks to the Pistons on Feb. 8, played for Detroit Monday night and spent much of the second half covering DiVincenzo, who actually tied the record twice before he hit the milestone shot.
DiVincenzo exited to a standing ovation from the Madison Square Garden crowd 11 seconds later.Josh Hart posted his sixth triple-double of the season while Jalen Brunson had 28 points for the Knicks , who won for the sixth time in seven games to remain in fourth place in the Eastern Conference, a half-game behind the Cleveland Cavaliers.Miles McBride and Bojan Bogdanovic each added 13 points while Precious Achiuwa had 16 rebounds off the bench.
