Based on its August 13 situational report, the NDRRMC said 5,293,546 locals or 1,352,055 families residing in 5,535 barangays nationwide have been affected by the recent weather events.This figure includes the 57,628 people displaced by the typhoons and southwest monsoon, which is locally known as habagat.
According to the NDRRMC, 43,584 displaced people were taking shelter outside evacuation centers, which currently accommodate 14,044.
