The same residents' windows were smashed by vandals just weeks ago
Residents of an area in Basford which locals describe as "quiet" have spoken of their fears after vandals broke into a derelict property for a second time. Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to a "large fire" in the grounds of Maville House off Beech Avenue on February 14.
Surrounding outbuildings also once acted as lace factories but are now abandoned. It was in one of these single-storey buildings, which back onto gardens of homes on Gladstone Street, that the fire was started.. "If a brick came through there's risk of serious injury or even death. It's scary and it's happening at random times. We don't know if they're going to come back."
