A neighbour said they had seen a number of fire engines, police cars and ambulances descend on the property in the early hours of the morning
Tributes have been paid to a 'lovely and helpful' Nottinghamshire dad who died in a house fire. Emergency services were called to Wigwam Grove, Hucknall at around 1am on Monday, November 4 after a neighbour reported they could smell smoke coming from the property.
A local, who had also worked with him for years, said: “He was such a lovely bloke, I’m just thinking about how awful it is. He was funny, we had some laughs, and he was really hardworking and sociable." Another neighbour said they had seen a number of fire engines, police cars and ambulances descend on the property in the early hours of the morning. “We saw no flames, just a lot of firefighters and smoke," the house owner said.
“I feel so sorry for his family and friends, it must have been so sudden and awful.” Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service has launched an investigation into the cause of the fire.
