Neil Lennon insists Michael Beale is facing his biggest week in football as the Rangers boss prepares for a do-or-die Champions League clash with PSV Eindhoven followed by a mammoth first Old Firm derby of the season at Ibrox.
The Irishman praised Beale’s boys for the professional manner in getting the job done against Ross County on Saturday as goals from Kemar Roofe and James Tavernier earned a 2-0 win in the Highlands. But Lennon told PLZ Soccer that the 42-year-old Londoner - former boss of QPR, coach under Steven Gerrard at Rangers and assistant at Sao Paulo - is facing the biggest double header of his career.
“If they win they’ll be on the up, the place will be rocking, and if they lose they’ll be on a bit of a downer but you can always get yourself up again for a big derby like that. And I thought Ross County was an impressive win, I have to say. Going up there in-between the two PSV games, half 12 kick off, three hour drive, it was a really good win. Ross County have been scoring goals so it was really professional performance and it breeds confidence.
