Netflix has dropped the bombshell that The Witcher's days are numbered, with the fourth season now in production. Fans were left on tenterhooks about the future of the fantasy series after leading man Henry Cavill announced his exit from the show in 2022.
However, despite securing a new lead, whispers that the fifth season will be The Witcher's swansong have now been confirmed by the streaming behemoth. Netflix chiefs have declared that filming for season five will kick off immediately after season four wraps up, marking the end of Geralt's journey. She added: "It is with huge pride that we begin shooting our penultimate Season of The Witcher with a stellar cast, including some exciting new additions, led by Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia. We're thrilled to be able to bring Andrzej Sapkowski's books to an epic and satisfying conclusion. It wouldn't be our show if we didn't push our family of characters to their absolute limit - stay tuned to see how the story ends.
