The film is out in cinemas everywhere on November 15 and on Netflix November 22.

A new film that is also about to be released on Netflix tells the heart breaking true story of the lengthy process of how a professor, surgeon and a nurse changed having babies across the world by IVF.

Joy, which will come out on Friday, November 15, is told through the eyes of a young nurse called Jean Purdy who joins forces with surgeon Patrick Steptoe, and scientist Robert Edwards in their tireless 10-year journey of trying to help families in UK have children through a different way called In Vitro Fertilisation.

Directed by Ben Taylor along with co-directors Jack Thorne and Rachel Mason, the film celebrates the power of perseverance as the group go through a lot of failure in their IVF research after attempting implantation in 282 women, in which only 5 became clinically pregnant but none had given birth to a live baby.

The desperate couple had had been trying to conceive naturally for nine years, but Lesley faced complications of blocked fallopian tubes. Instead of being celebrated for the ground-breaking success, the medical professionals became a target of hate by members of the public and religion who fear they are 'playing God'. But they soon see the relief of other families when they welcome the world's 'first test-tube baby'.

Using this ground-breaking research, the group are then able to finally help other families across the world and is seen to celebrate about rather than see the negative side - however, the group and family still receive backlash for their decision as media follows Louise around for the rest of her life.
