Police have put in place a Section 60 order to prevent violent disorders across parts of Liverpool

Another Section 60 Order has been put in place in Liverpool city centre today following the violent scenes which have been happening across Merseyside over the last few weeks. The new order will be in place for 12 hours from 11am today and will stay active until 11pm. The Section 60 has been introduced to prevent incidents of disorder and criminality.

“We have an increased presence in the city centre today and this order will give those officers on the ground the ability to stop and search anyone suspected of carrying weapons or planning any criminality, and strengthen their ability to protect the community from any further disorder. “The aim, as ever, is to keep the public safe, and residents and visitors to the city will see more police patrols today.
