Castlevania fans may finally get to see a new game this year, and possibly on Switch 2, if the latest Konami rumours are to be believed.
Bring back this art style and we’ll be extra happy As Konami enjoys a better fiscal year than it expected, new rumours suggest the first new Castlevania in a decade will be announced before the end of 2025. While Konami hasn’t entirely forgotten the Castlevania series, it’s still weird that there hasn’t been a brand new game in over a decade, despite the continued popularity of Netflix’s animated shows. Instead, the publisher has limited itself to releasing only the occasional retro compilation.
Another alternative would be the Nintendo Switch 2 showcase in April. It’d be surprising if Konami didn’t have something planned for Switch 2 and given how much attention that showcase is expected to get, highlighting a new Castlevania there would make a lot of sense. Konami’s neglect of Castlevania is particularly strange given they’ve already announced plans for the return of Metal Gear and the far less well known Silent Hill – which has somehow already had multiple new games.
