ALL of the KVUE area saw MARKED improvements in our drought situation, essentially dropping a level of drought area-wide!
This release is something that many Central Texans have been looking forward to. Because most of our recent rain fell past the deadline for last Thursday's drought monitor, it has been counted for this week's.
All of the KVUE viewing area saw tremendous improvement, as did the rest of the state. In fact, all drought categories saw a decrease of at least 3%, with the moderate, severe and extreme categories decreasing by around 10% to 15%. While it's important to note the old cliché that"it's a marathon, not a sprint" when it comes to drought relief, this is a good start to what is expected to be a cooler and wetter season coming up with the El Niño pattern. However,, so don't expect much movement on next week's drought monitor. In the meantime, your 7-day outlook is below.
