New laws will be introduced from next month impacting wages, tax and worker's rights
Workers will be subject to new laws from April that will affect their wages and rights to certain types of leave.

Childcare changes for working parents Last year, the government announced a huge shake-up to free childcare provisions in England and Wales. By September 2025, most working families with children under the age of five will be entitled to 30 hours of childcare support. Later in the year, 15 hours of free childcare will be extended down to the age of nine months for working parents, with registration set to open in May for the start of the September term.There are also big changes coming to Child Benefit eligibility next month. From April 6, around 170,000 families will be taken out of paying the high income tax charge when the threshold at which the charge starts will increase from £50,000 to £60,000.
Currently, it's only when staff have worked for their employer for 26 weeks or more that they have the right to ask if they can work flexibly. They are also required to explain the effect of the change on their employer and can only make one request in a 12-month period.
