A big part of the new year is getting fit and starting that new exercise regime you've been planning to burn off the calories from all those festive treats. Whether you are looking to go all in and go hard or just to dip your toes in with something fun and new then thankfully, this is the best time of the year to do so. This year we've seen some brilliant new gyms and classes launch with everything from spin classes and weights to yoga and pilates on offer.
To help, we've pulled together a list of some of the excellent new spots (and already established venues) you can join in the coming weeks to kick off your journey. Kali Collective, City Centre This yoga studio in the city centre has been at the forefront hitting the headlines with its innovative classes such as the brilliant sounding aerial yoga. Based in the Axiom building on Washington Street in Glasgow, the collective has been around a while but recently unveiled its new studio space and has Steph Wall in charge, a yoga instructor who has trained all over the world. Move Train Eat, City Centre Former PR executive Mandy Easton launched Move Train Eat, a new Mat Pilates and Group Fitness studio in the heart of the city centre. Located on Floor 1 of Sur Wellness on West Regent Street, MTE offers smaller classes with options for complete beginners and advanced clients. The mum-of-one, who knows the struggle of 'burn out' and 'juggling it all', set up a studio to provide 'feel-good, uplifting and community-inspired workouts for all'. Home to Mat Pilates, Strengthening and Stretching classes, Mandy says the studio adds a 'fresh wellness offering to the area', adding it's a 'new way to exercise, connect with your body and feel good'.
