The new Boss Obsidian skin is set to come to the Fortnite Item Shop soon, but Epic Games may have jumped the gun.
Collaborations and Fortnite go hand in hand these days, with there seemingly being multiple crossover skins in the Item Shop at any one time. But, this may be the first time that we have seen an original cosmetic receive collaborative branding. Despite the promotional image, Boss Obsidian is a brand new original character and Epic Games accidentally leaked it early.
Although no date has been given for the skin’s release, we will probably see Boss Obsidian come to Fortnite as soon as the next Item Shop rotation later tonight. One interesting note is that, despite the Deadpool graffiti, Boss Obsidian is not a collaboration skin and isn’t associated with the Marvel IP, instead it is an original character that appears to be based on the Black Knight outfit from Chapter 1 Season 2, which has been the base of multiple cosmetics over the years.
