The BBC has announced that two new Gladiators will be joining the arena for series two of the reboot of the popular 90s show. They include a 32-year-old world rowing champion from Nottingham.
A silver medal winner in both the European and World championships, Hammer stands at 6 foot 5 inches tall and claims that his combined height, speed and strength set him apart from other gladiators. Hosted by Bradley and Barney Walsh, Gladiators returned to screens in 2024 for the first time since its 2008 revival on Sky One. With the show racking almost ten million viewers in last year's first month, the new series is back and promises to be better than ever.
Alongside Tom, 23-year-old power-lifter Lystus Ebosele will be joining the squad as Cyclone. Also taking part in the new series will be Ilkeston’s own Giant. Real name Jamie Christian, Giant said the success of the show was “madness” which has meant that he can’t go to his local Costa Coffee “without having a few photos”.
