West Northamptonshire Council says it will discuss the development in a meeting on Wednesday.

If the plans are agreed by West Northamptonshire Council, two three-bedroom houses will be built at the end of a Co-op car park on Barry Road in Abington, Northamptonshire.

However, during a public consultation process 14 letters were submitted which objected to the plans. The concerns raised included the impact the development would have on the character of the area, traffic, parking issues and the safety of schoolchildren.Cornerstone 2 Homes Ltd outline that each house would have two parking spaces on a driveway at the front of the property, which would use 12 existing spaces from the Co-op car park.

West Northamptonshire Council said the supermarket's loss of the car parking space was acceptable, as the car park was said to be "under used", even at busier times of the day., it said homes would be located along an established resident street close to a local centre in a "highly sustainable location".MP says culture change is needed for SEND provision
