Kevin Smith gives an update on the new Jay and Silent Bob movie and reveals an Evil Dead-inspired prop that will be featured in the film.

“Right now, as we speak, I’m writing another Jay and Silent Bob movie,” Smith said at the time, via. “For me and Jay, we always kind of have fun doing those and stuff, so I lost a bet with him. And so I’m writing another Jay and Bob movie.”“Behold the NecronomiKev – The Book of the Dead Film Careers! Kidding ,” Smith’s caption reads.

Jay and Silent Bob, played respectively by Mewes and Smith, made their first official appearance in 1994’s Clerks. They went on to appear in a number of other movies directed by Smith, including 1995’s Mallrats, 1997’s Chasing Amy, and 1999’s Dogma. The two characters were given their own feature film in 2001 titled Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. They further had roles in 2006’s Clerks II and 2013’s Jay & Silent Bob’s Super Groovy Cartoon Movie! before they then got another live-action feature film in 2019 titled Jay and Silent Bob Reboot. They were also featured in 2022’s Clerks III.

Plot details for Smith’s new movie remain under wraps at this time.
