Shizuka crying in Takopi's Original Sin manga by Taizan 5
It's not too much of a stretch to assume that manga publisher Shueisha chose to serialize the new series Takopi's Original Sin in Jump Plus instead of Shonen Jump because it's just way too dark - even though it's also immensely cute.
The only way that readers can get through the first chapter of this depressing series without falling into a deep pit of despair is due to 's Nueinukf's shenanigans and overabundance of cuteness. The creature doesn't seem to possess any analytical skills or is either just incapable of detecting or comprehending anything negative. As such, all of the terribly depressing things that Shizuka mutters just don't compute with him.
The tragedy might have been partially circumvented, but it still happened. It still hangs over Nueinukf and overshadows all of the cute and wonderful things they try to cheer Shizuka up with. Meanwhile, readers know what Shizuka is capable of, creating an unshakable sense of anxious anticipation in readers as they dread it happening again.
