A new report by HousingWorks Austin shows the city is not meeting its affordable housing goals. City leaders want to build 60,000 affordable units by 2028.

AUSTIN, Texas — The Markson, a new 330-unit mixed-income development that includes affordable housing units, is now open in southwest Austin.

It is one of eight developments created in partnership with HACA, with more than 2,300 units throughout Austin. The Markson will offer units to people who provide critical services, including teachers and first responders, close to their place of work, according to a press release. The complex is offering one month of free rent to all employees of nearby St. Andrew's Episcopal School.The apartment complex features a landscaped pool courtyard with private cabanas, an outdoor kitchen with grills, bocce ball, volleyball courts and a dog park.
