A rare Black Moon will rise tomorrow - but what is a Black Moon?
A New Moon graces the night skies roughly every 29.5 days at the start and end of the monthly lunar cycle. Black Moons are, however, much rarer and only appear about every 32 months. During the New Moon, the lunar orb's sunlit side will face away from our planet. As a result, the New Moon will temporarily vanish from sight and will not be seen to the unaided eye.And although the New Moon will not be visible this week, not every New Moon is a Black Moon.
