A new mother, Ash Good, was among six people killed in a mass stabbing attack at a Sydney shopping centre. The attacker was shot dead by a lone female police officer.
A new mother who was among six people killed in a mass stabbing attack at a Sydney shopping centre has been identified. Ash Good, 38, died at St Vincent’s Hospital hours after making desperate attempts to save her nine-month-old daughter Harriet’s life, who was also stabbed, at Westfield Bondi Junction on Saturday. Harriet was taken to Sydney Children’s Hospital at Randwick for emergency surgery, where she remains. It’s understood she had suffered several chest and arm injuries.
if, in fact, it is the person we believe it is, we don’t have fears for that person holding an ideation, in other words, that it’s not a terrorism incident,” she said. Assistant Commissioner Anthony Cooke said the assailant was seen on CCTV entering the shopping centre, leaving and then returning about 3.20pm, beginning his attack. Footage from inside showed people fleeing as a man armed with a knife chased them through the centre. The centre is closed and will be an active crime scene for days.
