The transformations were made possible by funding from the Department for Transport.

A number of new buses have been launched, and it is hoped the remainder of the fleet will be updated by November

Newly rebranded park and ride buses have been launched in a Shropshire town, as part of efforts to improve bus services in the area.It is hoped that the remaining fleet of vehicles will have been rebranded by November. Funds for the rebranding were taken from £1.8m given to Shropshire Council by the Department for Transport .The offer applies to all buses from Meole Brace, Harlescott and Oxon park and ride sites.

"We hope these eye-catching newly rebranded buses - along with the special fare of just £1 return – will grab people’s attention and encourage them to use the service when visiting the town centre," said Ian Nellins, Shropshire Council's deputy leader. He added that by using park and ride services, commuters would not have to find or pay for a parking space, and the town centre would have less congestion and unnecessary traffic.Private cabbies 'losing business' to bus service
