“That could result in school districts choosing to have some school days be a little bit shorter, other school days be a little bit longer," said PSEA Spokesperson Christopher Lilienthal. "As long as they add up to that 990 hours depending on elementary or secondary.” The bill was developed with the Superintendent’s Association to help meet the needs of students and create more individualized education.
They say before any major changes are made, administrators need to talk to everyone to see what works best for each community.
