A new app called Path is hoping to make walking home late at night safer for women.
‘As a secondary function, users are able to optionally link their journeys to one or more guardians. The link is only sustained for that individual journey so they are not able to see the user’s movements once completed, which is important for privacy and safety reasons.
He’s not blind to the issues feminists and action groups are calling out here, adding that: ‘While both these functions do not directly address the systemic issue of male violence we hope they will enable us in the short term to make everyone a little more safe. ‘There are some suggestions for improvements such as a version specifically for dating which we are implementing as we speak.’
