The multi-talented chef has spent years on the artwork at Giza, in Radford
One minute you're in Nottingham, the next you're transported to another part of the world by the incredible decor at new Egyptian takeaway Giza. Before diners even start on theGiza brings something new to the city's food and drink scene, with a signature dish kushari. The classic comforting street food has layers of mixed pasta, lentils and rice topped with tangy tomato sauce, chickpeas and crispy onions.
Visitors need to look up as well as admire the walls since his handiwork extends to the ceiling where stencilled hieroglyphics have been spray painted over and over again. Once a barber's shop with plain walls and mirrors, it has been transformed into an authentic Egyptian takeaway. "Some of the people who come here say it's very unusual, it's not like a takeaway and this is the exactly what I want. I don't want it to be just like any other takeaway."
A spokesperson for the takeaway, who met the chef at university, said:"Not everyone gets the opportunity to visit Egypt so it's like bringing a little bit here. All the touristy places do continental food so most people who have been to Egypt's resorts might not even have tasted authentic food.
