A surprise documentary about the making of Stanley Kubrick's The Shining is coming soon with its release date announced.
is one of those movies that leaves you with chills decades later. Just when you thought you’d never see The Overlook Hotel again, a surprise is coming your way.
“The production of The Shining has been well documented and analyzed, but this is a story which has never been told,” said Katharina Kubrick who was the horror film’s location researcher and the director’s daughter. “Pivotal scenes from the film took place in these areas, so going back to them felt like stepping into the movie itself.”will be Shine On’s narrator.
“There have been so many rumors about some of the sets from ‘The Shining’ still existing at Elstree Studios, but to actually find them and walk around them was like discovering a holy grail of film history,” said Shine On’s director/producer Paul King in a press statement.Shine On will be debuting on Stanley Kubrick’s official YouTube channel on July 26 at 11 a.m. PST/2 p.m. EST. This would have been the late filmmaker’s 96th birthday.
