A preferred route for a new dual carriageway was announced at a local hotel back in 2010
A new road to bypass a village with frequent traffic tailbacks could be included in a new 10-year transport plan, the Infrastructure Minister has said.
In a statement, Ms Sugden said: "Tailbacks and congestion are common at all times of day, severely impacting important links between Coleraine, Limavady and Derry. Mr O'Dowd replied: "My Department is in the process of developing a new Transport Strategy that will help to shape the vision and strategic priorities for transport through to 2035. Once this is published, it will help to inform the Transport Plan for the Regional Strategic Transport Network, which includes the A2 at Ballykelly."
