Football Insider has been told by Frank McAvennie that last weekend's defeat to Brighton was a 'wake up call' for Eddie Howe's Newcastle side.
I thought they would get to the Europa League last season, then the Champions League the year after and then the following year they would be challenging for the league.
They are getting there quicker than what I thought and it seems as though it is getting into their heads that they are a good team and then all of a sudden something like that happens and it is a wake up call.It is about how you come back from that and that is what Eddie Howe’s job will be. They came down with a thump and it is down to him to pick them back up.They are where they are because every single player fights for one another and that did not happen against Brighton.
