Newcastle have completed a deal to sign ex-Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius NUFC
With Karl Darlow picking up an injury, Eddie Howe has been keen to bring in another stopper to rival Nick Pope for the No.1 jersey with Karius being the man selected.
The 29-year-old moved to Liverpool in 2016 but was limited to just 49 appearances for the Reds as he struggled to establish himself as the club’s number one stopper. He did, however, start for Liverpool in the 2018 Champions League final with Real Madrid in which his two errors proved costly in a 3-1 defeat.
“Newcastle have a great coach and play really attractive football. I felt it was the right project for me and I’m excited to work with the coaches and my new teammates.”
