Both the crowd and the players at St James’ appeared to target Brereton Diaz, and a clip of a strong tackle from Longstaff quickly did the rounds on social media.Longstaff was one of a number of Newcastle players to land heavy challenges on the forward in the wake of Schar’s red card.The St James’ Park atmosphere quickly turned hostile for the visitors, with the reaction to the red card spurring them on.
