No club is allowed to lose more than £105m over three years, although some expenditures don’t count towards PSR losses.
Waugh said that on that final deadline day, Newcastle United still needed to do deals worth £50m to satisfy the PSR. As a number of people have commented, PSR has now created two deadlines in a summer transfer window. The end of June for immediate PSR purposes, then a further two months where clubs will trade players in and out, this summer the final day of the window is Friday 30 August 2024.
