Lee Carsley remains the odds on favourite to be named the next permanent England manager despite defeat at home to Greece in the Nations League last night.

The former Ireland international has been promoted from the England U21 job, with whom he won the Euros last year, so is still in the FA's good books, and remains favourite to take over the senior squad on a permanent basis heading into 2025. Pep Guardiola's current contract is coming to an end at Manchester City at the end of the season, sparking rumours of his potential departure from the Etihad, with the potential of linking up with the England team in the summer to take over as manager.
