Yorkshire Water has become the first company in the North of England to introduce a hosepipe ban this summer.
It comes into force from August 26, amid warnings that the region has seen the lowest rainfall since records began more than 130 years ago.
It will be the company’s first hosepipe ban in 27 years, and those caught flouting it risk fines of up to £1,000.
