A 'highly significant' Roman shrine was found close to the development site
The next stage of a 2,000-home development near Northampton has been given the go-ahead. An outline plan for 223 homes in part of Overstone Leys Sustainable Urban Extension was approved in August 2021 but its appearance, layout and scale have now been approved by West Northamptonshire Council .
Of the new 223 homes, 47 of those have been designated as affordable, which will be 21% of the total built. That is above the development’s 15% requirement. Permission for the sustainable urban extension was first granted in 2015. A first phase for 200 homes was split into two sections and also approved in 2015, along with outline permission for a pub, a primary school, a care home, a nursery, a medical centre and shops.
