The Eagles used their third-round pick on xxxx.
Nebraska defensive tackle Ty Robinson runs the 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine on Thursday, Feb. 27, 2025, at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis., a 6-foot-6, 288-pound defensive tackle from Nebraska.
He finished his career with 12 sacks and 27 tackles for a loss in 60 games. Seven of those sacks and 13 of the TFLs came last season. The Eagles initially had the 96th overall pick in the third round, but they traded it to the Atlanta Falcons because that’s what general manager Howie Roseman does. It was his second trade of the draft and we didn’t have to wait long for the third. The received the 101st overall pick in the third round and a 2026 fifth-round pick from the Falcons, then Roseman traded picks 101 and 134 in the fourth round to the Denver Broncos for picks 111 and 130 in the fourth round. The Eagles also received pick 191 from the Broncos in the sixth round. A year ago, Roseman made a total of eight trades during the draft, so he has a ways to go today if he’s going to match that.“Robinson enjoyed the best season of his career in his sixth year, tallying a 79.5 pass-rush grade. He’s an elite athlete for the position who plays with a bully’s mentality. Robinson has below-average length and needs to play with better leverage, but he has the traits and motor to bet on as a projected backup with the upside of one day becoming a starter.”“When he stays low with forward lean off the snap, Robinson can slant and shoot through gaps like a locomotive off the tracks, although his attack is much more methodical if he doesn’t win quickly and has to play through contact. He has natural football instincts with play-recognition skills that show against the pass and the run. Overall, Robinson might lack star potential, but rugged competitors with his size, toughness and ability never go out of style in the NFL.”“Bully with a roughshod playing style that forces blockers to match his physicality. Robinson is built for the trenches with the versatility to play in odd or even fronts. He’s first into contact with his hands and mitigates average knee-bend with brute force in his upper half. He’s powerful to set edges but lacks length to control and quickly shed NFL blockers. He’s an effort rusher with active hands who can exploit a weak edge and thrive in gaming fronts but possesses average creativity. Robinson might not be a star, but his effort, strength and demeanor could make him a productive pro for years to come.” Thank you for relying on us to provide the journalism you can trust.
