Friday night football, anyone? The Green Bay Packers and Philadelphia Eagles will open the 2024 season with a game in Sao Paulo, Brazil, on Sept. 6, a rare Friday matchup in NFL annals.

“We’re excited to play in front of our devoted fans in Brazil and help build upon the international popularity of the NFL and the Packers,” said Mark Murphy, the team’s CEO. “We had a great experience playing internationally for the first time a couple of years ago and we’re proud to be part of the league’s continued global growth.”
“The matchup … is an extremely exciting moment for the city of Sao Paulo,” Mayor Ricardo Nunes said in a statement. “These two franchises will certainly play a historic game, bringing great global visibility to our city and assist in our efforts to generate jobs and economic impact.”
