The NFL game between the Bills and Cincinnati Bengals was suspended on Monday night after the tragic moment that occured after the 24-year-old tackled Bengals receiver Tee Higgins toward the end of the first quarter.

"We are deeply moved by the prayers, kind words, and donations from fans around the country. We also want to acknowledge the dedicated first responders and healthcare professionals at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center who have provided exceptional care to Damar.
After the tackle Damar initially got to his feet but quickly fell on his back. The game was halted and the athlete received on-field medical attention before being taken to hospital in an ambulance at 9.25pm local time.The statement read:"Damar Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest following a hit in our game versus the Bengals. His heartbeat was restored on the field and he was transferred to the UC Medical Center for further testing and treatment.
