The Philadelphia Eagles quarterback could hardly talk after Monday’s loss to Atlanta, but that didn’t prevent him from addressing his teammates.

“I just thought he was spot on with what he said. His passion was awesome. When a player is saying everything that you would say, there’s no reason for me to talk afterwards, so we took a knee after that and prayed because we still had a lot to be thankful for. But, man, that was perfect. Like I said, when your leaders are preaching the same message that I am and that I believe in, and we’re all on the same page, that’s huge.
At his Wednesday press conference, Hurts’ voice sounded closer to normal, but he still didn’t have much to say about his talk to his teammates. Philadelphia plays the New Orleans Saints at noon CDT Sunday. The Saints have started the season by beating the Carolina Panthers 47-10 and the Dallas Cowboys 44-19.
