We ran 10,000 simulations to predict wins for every NFL team. Do our beat writers agree with the results?
The Lions finished 9-8 last season after a 1-6 start. Their second-half run, winning eight of their final 10 games, was a product of better health and young players emerging. On paper, the Lions got better this offseason. A talented rookie class looks ready to roll, and the team has free agency to thank for its new-look secondary, which could be the key to unlocking Aaron Glenn’s defense. In a weak NFC North division, the Lions have more than enough talent to surpass nine wins.
—This is about right, and it’s quite a bit more optimistic than a lot of folks who cover the NFL are about this team. I’ve got the Titans going 9-8 this season, and it helps to be playing a second-place schedule with the NFC South in the rotation in 2023. The Titans could slip below .500 if the offensive line ends up being a real problem. They could get to double-digit wins and threaten Jacksonville for the division if it’s solid. But the defense won’t let this team be terrible.
