Fans filled the Delta Center to welcome the NHL 's newest hockey team by doing a meet-and-greet with players and coaches of the former Arizona Coyotes, and the players got their first taste of Utah 's enthusiastic fan base.
"It's the perfect city for it," said hockey fan Chet Spencer, one of the first through the door at the event. "It will be a growing sport and it will catch on immediately."VOTE: What name do you prefer for Utah's new NHL team?The meet-and-greet featured highlights on the big screen, giveaways, and player introductions.“I love kind of the fights and brawls and stuff. We all come to see the fighting, right?" Astle said.
Even those who weren't initially big hockey fans, like Lindy Davis, found herself drawn into the energy of the new team. "It's just a good thing for Utah, like it's just fun to have the energy and stuff like that," she said.
