NHS clinic given go-ahead to transform former Barnoldswick bank despite controversy
Planning permission has been approved by Pendle Council for work to turn a former Barnoldswick bank into an NHS clinic, which has divided opinion.
Planning officers had recommended councillors to approve the NHS application , based on planning guidance. They said debates about NHS services were not part of the planning remit. In other Pendle Council planning decisions, the new Development Management Committee has refused a retrospective application for permission to demolish a terraced house chimney in Nelson.
