The NHS warns that the 'quademic', a combination of RSV, flu, Covid variant XEC, and norovirus, poses a significant risk to Brits celebrating Christmas with loved ones.
Many Brits could be putting themselves at greater risk while seeing friends and family during Christmas . This is particularly so as the NHS has been inundated this winter with the “quademic”.
It also says that a new continuous cough means you have been coughing a lot for more than an hour or have experienced three or more coughing episodes within 24 hours. If you suspect you have Covid-19 it’s best to avoid contact with other people even during the holidays. You may take some paracetamol or ibuprofen to ease your discomfort according to the health service. A teaspoon of honey can help ease a dry cough, although this is not recommended for babies under 12 months old.
