'The gift of an egg donation would be life-changing, offering us a chance to experience the love and joy of parenthood that we have longed for'
A couple from Northern Ireland have spoken of their heartache as they appeal for an egg donor to come forward.
Speaking to Belfast Live, the pair said: "After much heartache and many challenges, we’ve realised that we need the help of a kind and generous individual to make our dream of having a child come true."We are urgently seeking an egg donor, and if you are a woman aged 21-35, we ask you to please consider helping us. The gift of an egg donation would be life-changing, offering us a chance to experience the love and joy of parenthood that we have longed for.
As advised on the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust website: ''For some women treatment, using eggs donates from others is the only treatment option available to them. Some women have become sterile due to surgery or chemotherapy treatment for cancer, some may have undergone an early menopause or have some other hormonal condition and some may carry a genetic condition which is passed on by females.
Jesse added: "Expressing an interest in learning more about egg donation does not mean you are making a commitment. You can request more information and decide at any point if it’s the right path for you."
