Retired outdoor education instructor Alan Currans is to take to the seas next month
A Co Fermanagh man is taking on an epic sailing journey which will see him travel the whole way around Scotland and Ireland in memory of four friends who died by suicide.
Alan says he wanted to do the challenge to highlight the increasing problem around mental health issues in rural areas such as Fermanagh. “I always felt that I wanted to do something because I wanted to celebrate their greatness, they were all wonderful people. The 2,000 mile sail will see Alan traversing around the remote Orkney islands before completing a full lap of the island of Ireland.
