'It was an awful and frustrating illness and there's still a lack of awareness about it'
A Co Antrim man has embarked on a fundraising 2,500km trek around the Irish coast in memory of his younger brother following his death at just 29 years old last year.
To his loved ones, Josh was a kind, loyal, thoughtful person. He was energetic and active and someone who loved everything to do with the outdoors. He was an avid runner and passionate about pushing himself through physical activities. "As a family we saw his suffering at first hand as the illness took years off him and he had every test under the sun. It was an awful and frustrating illness and there's still a lack of awareness about it."
"I felt that Cork to Carrick had a nice wee ring to it so why not. I plan to wild camp and cook for the majority of the trip and will be leaning on the kindness of friends, the Irish hoteliers and the couch-surfing community for the occasional stay," Lee explained.
