20-year-old mum-of-one struggling with brain defect and tumour

A Co Derry mum facing possible paralysis from a brain defect and tumour has said she's been forced to turn to fundraising to pay for private treatment due to the "crumbling" state of the NHS .

She continued: "Fast forward to January of this year and I was sent for an MRI. The MRI was actually of the ear canal because I was having pains in my ear, going into my head. That was when they found the Petrous Ridge Meningioma. It was in the right frontal lobe. "The Petrous Ridge Meningioma is a tumour. The chiari malformation is what is pressing on the spine."

She is hoping to see a neurologist as soon as possible. Britnie said she was "devastated" to find out this week a neurology appointment that had been scheduled for next month has now been delayed by another month.
