It is part of a £3m investment into the region by local company the Oakleaf Group
A popular Northern Irish nightclub is preparing of a major refurbishment this summer as part of a £3million investment into the Mid-Ulster region.
In addition, Oakleaf will be creating 23 new serviced apartments above and to the rear of the Main Street bar, in a town centre living initiative to help revitalise William Street and encourage people to live there. The opening of The 40 Thieves and its associated apartments increases Oakleaf’s expanding portfolio in the market town of Cookstown, once the mecca of the Mid-Ulster social scene.
“Our aim is to do our bit to help restore the town to its former glory with significant investment in exciting new venues to entertain locals and attract visitors - and also, through the introduction of on-street living, to help revitalise the town centre and bring back that famous ‘Cookstown sizzle’.
An ongoing 12-month refurbishment has created a revitalised community hub for the village, with a new restaurant in the venue to be opened in the coming months.
