Six or seven armed police officers surrounded Niall Barry and his girlfriend Lucy Worley
Six men continue to appear at Liverpool Crown Court for their alleged involvement in the murder of Knowsley Council worker Ashley Dale. James Witham, now 41, has admitted opening fire with a Skorpion sub-machine gun and firing the bullet that killed Ashley, but will claim he did not see or hear the 28-year-old.
Sergeant Christopher Lowe, who was part of a specialist firearms team that arrested Barry, told the court he was located in room 223 and had guns pointed at him by between six or seven firearms officers. He was cautioned and arrested on suspicion of murder, but after being told this Sgt Lowe said Barry then made an outburst about his girlfriend, Lucy Worley.Sgt Lowe says his bodyworn camera was not on, so he made a note of the comment with a pen on a do not disturb sign.
There was also an ON jacket, ON Cloud trainers, a beige Pull and Bear jumper, a small white Zara top, a pair of size eight Missguided shorts and Alexander McQueen sandals. Ms Worley booked the hotel for a single night for two adults on August 23, and paid in cash when she checked in.
